BUSES

 

Safety Measures:

  • Window (partially open) and roof hatches will be open as needed to increase airflow both during cleaning and disinfecting as well as during the bus route when the weather permits.

  • High touch areas (handrails) will be cleaned between new groups of students.

  • Thorough disinfecting will occur between morning and afternoon routes with CDC approved products.

  • All who enter the school bus are required to wear face coverings unless there is a disability, medical condition, or health condition that makes it difficult for the individual.

  • Passive health screenings are to be performed by families before students board the bus or enter school buildings.

Bus Stops and Boarding:

  • Parents/guardians are to train students at bus stops to ensure social distancing.

  • While boarding, sit in the assigned seat given by the driver.

  • Sit in the same assigned seat on the way home.

  • Enter and exit in single file lines.

  • Avoid riding with Covid-19 symptoms.

  • Keep your distance from others.

  • Wear a face covering/mask.

 

ROUTING SERVICES

In general, we plan to run all routes at regular times to provide consistent service that will meet the 5-scenario plan.

IN-PERSON LEARNING 

Buses run a regular schedule serving 100% of students.
 

HYBRID PHASE

Buses run a regular schedule – all grades Hybrid (50%).
 

DISTANCE LEARNING

No route services.


 

ATHLETICS
  • Bus capacity depends on the scenario we are in.

  • Passengers sit in the same seat to and from the event.

  • Loading back to front.


 

SCENARIO 2 - HYBRID
  • All K–12 students are required to wear face coverings unless there is a disability, medical condition or health condition that makes it difficult for the individual.
     

  • Per MDE/MDH no more than 50% of the vehicle capacity is allowed.

    • 77 Passenger Buses = 34 student capacity

    • Smaller yellow buses no more than 50% capacity

    • Type III

      • 7 Passenger = 2-3 students (plus driver)

      • 10 Passenger = 3-4 students (plus driver)
         

  • Students from the same household are encouraged to sit together.
     

  • Students sit in their assigned seat. In the afternoon students should board the bus and sit in the seat they were in for the morning.
     

  • Drivers will direct students in the seating process the first few days to maximize social distancing. 11 or less students (red seats), 23 or less students (red and blue), and 34 or less students (red, blue and green)
     

  • No student can sit within 6 feet of the driver on a full-size bus.
     

  • Face coverings and sanitizing will be provided to students upon request.
     

  • Passive health screenings are to be performed by families before students board the bus or enter school buildings.
     

  • Parents/Guardians or their designee will pick up students at school who become ill during the day to transport them home.
